Netflix has a handful of spooky originals to look forward to this October 2020, just in time for Halloween. Filipino creators are also under the spotlight as two animated films will be released—the Barangay 143 and Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story.
Fans of Korean girl group Blackpink are also looking forward to next month as their biases will star in their first-ever documentary film on the platform.
Netflix Philippines released on Thursday, September 24, the upcoming shows for October 2020. Check out the list below.
October 1: Barangay 143 – a Japanese-Filipino anime television series premiered nationwide in October 2018 on GMA Network.
October 2: Emily in Paris (Netflix Original) – an American comedy-drama web television series following the life of a newly hired girl from the Midwest to provide an American perspective at a marketing firm in Paris.
October 2: Vampires vs. The Bronx (Netflix Film) – an American comedy horror film directed by Emmy winner Osmany Rodriguez.
October 7: Her Private Life (Netflix Original) – a 2019 South Korean television series following the life of a talented chief curator of the Cheum Museum of Art, who also happens to have a secret.
October 7: Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (Netflix Original) – a 2020 South Korean television series starring Go Ara, Lee Jae-wook, and Kim Joo-hun.
October 7: Hubie Halloween (Netflix Film) – an American comedy horror film starring Adam Sandler.
October 9: The Haunting of Bly Manor (Netlfix Film) – an American supernatural horror-drama series loosely based on the 1898 horror novella ‘The Turn of the Screw’ by Henry James. It is the follow-up series to The Haunting of Hill House.
October 14: Blackpink: Light Up The Sky (Netflix Original) – a documentary about the South Korean pop girl group Blackpink.
October 15: Crazy Rich Asians – a 2018 American romantic comedy film based on the 2013 novel of the same title by Kevin Kwan.
October 16: Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 (Netflix Original) – the third season of the American television series Star Trek: Discovery following the journey of the USS Discovery as they travel to the future, over 900 years after the events of the original Star Trek series.
October 16: The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Netflix Film) – an American legal drama film based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government.
October 21: Rebecca (Netflix Film) – a British romantic thriller film about a newly married young woman who finds herself battling the shadow of her husband’s dead first wife, the mysterious Rebecca.
October 22: The Alienist: Angel of Darkness (Netflix Original) – Based on Caleb Carr’s best-selling 1994 novel, whose story continues in his 1997 sequel “The Angel of Darkness.”
October 23: The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix Original) – Set during the Cold War era, is an American drama miniseries based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Walter Tevis.
October 23: Over the Moon (Netflix Film) – an adventurous girl builds a rocket ship to meet a mythical goddess on the moon.
October 27: The Blood of Zeus (Netflix Original) – Formerly known as Gods & Heroes, is an upcoming original anime-style web series set in the world of Greek mythology following Zeus who tries to save heaven and earth.
October 28: The Holidate (Netflix Film) – an upcoming American romcom holiday film starring Emma Roberts, Luke Bracey, and Jake Manley.
