Sparkly Vampire Edward Cullen no more.
Although he appeared first as Cedric Diggory in the fantasy film ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire‘ in 2005, we have all known Robbert Pattinson, 34, for his ethereal and whimsical vampire role in the ‘Twilight‘ series from 2005-2008. However, he has now closed the doors for his immortal character and put on the iconic mask as the Gotham’s gritty Dark Knight.
The actor showed off his edgier side during the trailer debut of the newest The Batman movie on Saturday, August 22, in the virtual DC FanDome event.
Director Matt Reeves, who also helmed the ‘Planet of the Apes‘ movie, admitted that about “25 percent” of the film has been filmed. The film release was initially set on June 21, 2021, but with the delay caused by the pandemic, ‘The Batman’ was pushed to October 1, 2021.
Pattinson plays the iconic dual role of the vigilante detective Batman and billionaire Bruce Wayne.
A star-studded ensemble of Gotham’s famous and infamous cast were also introduced, including Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton, Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel, Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
The Batman will hit Philippine cinemas soon in 2021.
