Miss Kuyamis 2020: Opol bags home the crown

A beauty residing and representing Opol, Misamis Oriental Isobel June Teaño brought home the crown for Miss Kuyamis 2020. The coronation night took place Thursday night, January 9, at El Salvador City Gymnasium.

Teaño was one of the 21 beauty contestants that represented the 19 municipalities and two cities in the province of Misamis Oriental.

Celebrating its 7th year, each contestant has shown off their swimwear and evening gowns with confidence at the catwalk. The annual provincial pageant then ended with the selection of top-five and a question-and-answer portion.

The rest of the top-five includes Esel Mae Pabilaran of Lugait, Sheena Balansag of Talisayan, Samantha Pauline Feralin of Gingoog City, and Veronica Yvette Valdez of Alubijid, first to fourth places, respectively.

During the pageant, MisOr Provincial Tourism Officer Lawyer Joeffrey Saclot mentioned that the event was “the brainchild of Governor Yevgeny Vincente “Bambi” Emano to boost economic activities of the province through tourism.”

He also said how the pageant opened doors for “young women to reach their dreams of becoming candidates and contribute to the tourism promotion of the province.”

Today, two crowned Miss Kuyamis have already represented the province at the national level, bringing pride to Mindanao, namely Ana Monica Tan of Tagoloan and Chella Grace Falconer of Medina. Tan bagged the crown for Miss Philippines Air 2019 while Falconer made it to the top 10 in the Miss Millenial 2019.
