People magazine hails Michael B. Jordan “Sexiest Man Alive”

Michael B Jordan Sexiest Man Alive People Magazine

LOS ANGELES – People magazine names Michael B Jordan, Black Panther actor, as “sexiest man alive,” being the third Black actor in a row given such pop culture honor.

The magazine’s choice of Jordan was announced Tuesday night on the American TV talk show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Still single at 33, Jordan shares with the magazine that the title gives him “a cool feeling” and adds that it was “a good club to be part of.”

Jordan started his career as a child actor on TV. He starred in shows like “All My Children” and quickly rose through Hollywood with his performance in “Fruitvale Station,” a social justice drama in 2013.

Two years later, he starred in “Creed”, the “Rocky” boxing sequel. He is best know for his role as the villain Erik Killmonger in the 2018 Black Panther movie, which starred the late Chadwick Boseman.

Being this year’s “sexiest man alive,” Jordan follows American singer-songwriter John Legend and British actor Idris Elba, who were given the title in 2019 and 2018, respectively.

Relatively, the actor’s call for more diversity in Hollywood is known primarily in the industry. In 2018, his production company became the first that publicly adopted equity riders, which stated that films must employ diverse cast and crew.

Moreover, during the Black Lives Matter protests against racial injustice, Jordan joined forces with nonprofit organization “Color of Change” in launching an initiative that detailed tangible ways on how Hollywood can invest in stories about Black people and in producing content on anti-racism.

Jordan also shared how proud the women are in his family for the title given by People magazine.

“When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for,” the actor told People.

Jordan will appear on the cover of the People magazine double issue on newsstands this Friday.
