According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), MSMEs are the “backbone of many economies, representing 95 percent of all companies worldwide and accounting for 60 percent of employment.” With the supply chain disruptions, it created an existential risk for MSME importers and exporters, either because of shortages of necessary parts or through shock to demands.
To continue supporting and helping MSMEs in Cagayan de Oro City, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 pushed through its 3-month mentoring program amid the pandemic, shifting to online halfway through as to avoid health risk among its participants.
Accordingly, 26 MSMEs made through the program and graduated last Thursday, June 25.

The EBLS program is a modularized business learning session that focuses on the basic functionalities of entrepreneurship, including marketing, production, technology, human resources and organization, financial management, among others.
