Incoming SHS may now apply for DepEd’s voucher program for SY 2020-2021


The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued guidelines on eligibility and application for the senior high school (SHS) voucher program for the school year 2020-2020 last month.

Accordingly, the Philippine Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) announced that they will now accept applicants for the SHS voucher program starting June 29, 2020.

The SHS voucher program is a financial assistance program wherein subsidies in the form of vouchers are provided to qualified SHS learners in participating in private or non-DepEd public SHSs.


Who are eligible to apply?

According to DepEd Order No. 16, s.2020, the following students are eligible for the program:

  • All Grade 10 completers in private schools in SY 2019-2020 who are now ESC grantees;
  • All Grade 10 completers who completed GRade 10 prior to SY 2019-2020 but not earlier than 2016 and had not previously enrolled in Grade 11;
  • Learners who had passed the ALS A&E Test for Grade 10 not earlier than 2016 and had not previously enrolled for GRade 11 or will take the ALS A7E Test in SY 2020-2021;
  • Learners who passed the PEPT for Grade 10 not earlier than 2016 and had not previously enrolled for Grade 11 or will take the PEPT in SY 2020-2021.

Due to the current situation, all applications will be done online ONLY and is free of charge. Manual applications will not be accepted. Moreover, voucher applicants are highly discouraged from submitting multiple applications and should be coursed through PEAC NS via Online Voucher Application Portal (OVAP) at DepEd. The application period will run until July 24, 2020. Meanwhile, the deadline for the creation of OVAP accounts will be on July 22, 2020.

PEAC will release the results of accepted applicants on August 14, 2020.
