WATCH: First Filipino adult-animated film ‘Hayop ka!’ to premiere in Netflix this October 29

An adult animated film full of “serious drama, sexy romance, and intriguing intrigue.”


The first adult-animated Netflix film from the Philippines is coming on the streaming platform next month, October 29.

Directed by Avid Liongoren and written by Manny Angeles and Paulle Olivenza, “Hayo Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story” features a star-studded ensemble, including the voices of Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, and Robin Padilla. Executive produced by actor Piolo Pascual, who also voices a character in the movie.

The voices ensemble also includes Empoy Marquez, Arci Muñoz, Eugene Domingo, Yeng Constantino, Moira dela Torre, and Bb Joyce Bernal.

Hayop Ka! is set in the world populated by anthropomorphic animals following the story of Nimfa (Panganiban), a cat who sells perfume at a department store.

She is dating an askal janitor boyfriend, Roger (Padilla), but the relationship gets complicated after Nimfa meets Iñigo Villanueva (Milby), a “bourgeoisie business dog.”

The animated film will likewise be available across Asia in Taglish and English as You Animal! According to Netflix, the movie “is a refreshing look at societal expectations, personal aspirations, and the classic love triangle.”
