President Rodrigo Duterte dropped by the wake of Elizabeth Gokongwei, wife of the late billionaire taipan John Gokongwei, to express commiseration and condolence.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea accompanied the president at the funeral held in Taguig City.
Moreover, the Malacañang also released its condolences earlier on Sunday.

A week after the Gokongwei patriarch’s passing and a day after his burial, Elizabeth passed away at 85.
“Our mother, Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, one week after the death of our father, John Gokongwei, Jr., her husband of 61 years,” Gokongwei heir, Lance announced via text.
The Gokongwei matriarch was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), where she spent years on providing educational opportunities to underprivileged youth.

Nonetheless, John and Elizabeth’s children Robina, Lanca, Lisa, Faith, Hope, and Marcia will carry on their legacy.
