Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) recorded one new case of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, June 23, bringing the total cases in the city to 27.
City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya announced that the 27th case is a 44-year-old female resident of Barangay Agusan.
The 27th case is a cashier at a company in CDO. She first tested positive in rapid diagnostic testing, which her company organized last June 13. The CHO said the woman receives remittances from all clients all over Mindanao, which may have exposed her to the virus.
Consequently, the city has placed “one block” of the barangay under localized focused containment. Contact tracing is also underway.
Meanwhile, CDO also recorded one new recovery, bringing the total number of recoveries to nine. The total number of deaths in the city remained at 6.
