Cagayan de Oro City recoveries for COVID-19 hit 100-mark

City Health Officials reported four new positive cases for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in today’s press briefing, August 5.

The total of confirmed cases in the city is 169.

City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said that out of the four new cases, two are returning overseas Filipino (ROF), while two others are locally stranded individuals (LSI).

Dr. Nery also announced six new recoveries, bringing the total recovery count in the city to 100. Meanwhile, the death toll remains at 7, including the death of the 165th case yesterday.

 

Here’s a rundown of the four new cases, reported by City Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya:

166th Case: 29-year-old male, ROF from the Middle East

  • A resident of Barangay Macasandig
  • Arrived and swabbed in NAIA on July 21
  • Stayed in a hotel in Pasay city until July 27
  • Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 28
  • Swabbed on August 3; Result came out positive on August 4
  • Asymptomatic; No known comorbidity
  • Transferred and staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF)
  • Contact tracing is ongoing

 

167th Case: 56-year-old female, LSI from Bacoor, Cavite

  • A resident of Barangay Bulua
  • Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 29
  • Swabbed on August 3; Result came out positive on August 4
  • Transferred and staying at the TTMF
  • Contact tracing is ongoing

 

168th Case: 22-year-old male, LSI from malate, manila

  • A resident of Barangay Carmen
  • RDT in Manila on July 4; Result came out positive
  • Stayed in a quarantine area in Manila for 14 days
  • Second RDT on July 18; Result came out negative
  • Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 29
  • Swabbed on August 3, Result came out positive on August 4
  • Asymptomatic; No known comorbidity
  • Transferred and staying at the TTMF
  • Contact tracing is ongoing

 

169th Case: 30-year-old male, ROF from the Middle East

  • A resident of Barangay Balulang
  • Arrived in NAIA on July 21; swabbed; Result came out negative
  • Stayed in a hotel in Makati for seven days
  • Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 28
  • Swabbed on August 3; Result came out positive on August 4
  • Asymptomatic; No known comorbidity
  • Transferred and staying at the TTMF
  • Contact tracing is ongoing
