South Korean superstar BTS claimed seven entries on the latest Billboard Hot 100 (dated December 5), the first Korean song to top in the chart’s 62-year history.
All seven songs appear on BTS’ new album Be, which launched as the group’s fifth No. 1 on the Billboard 200, arriving with 242,000 equivalent album units (177,000 in album sales, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data). The album’s first week is the largest for an album by a group in terms of both equivalent album units and album sales since BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7, which earned 422,000 units (347,000 in album sales) in its first week (chart dated March 7).
“Life Goes On” topped BTS’ Hot 100 haul, as it soars in at No. 1, becoming the group’s third No. 1, after “Dynamite” in September and “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” with Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685, in October.
