The South Korean girl group Blackpink and Netflix announced Monday, September 9, that BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky is set to premiere next month as an all-access documentary.
The group’s label YG Entertainment told Korean media that the documentary would cover the four-year journey of the group its massive debut in 2016. Aside from the video footage from their training days to a glimpse at their daily life, the documentary will also feature some behind-the-scenes stories and honest interviews with members.

Blackpink’s documentary feature will mark the streaming service’s significant move towards creating originals with K-pop artists.
Moreover, Netflix also shared that the BLACKPINK members will also become Netflix profile icons meaning users can use Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, or Lisa as their avatar while streaming.
