Actress Iza Calzado now tests negative for COVID-19


Three days after she tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Filipino Actress Iza Calzado is now discharged from the hospital Tuesday.


“It’s an amazing start of the week as we were just told that Iza can go home tomorrow after completing her IV antibiotics! Moreover, the good news is – Iza’s retest results came back and she is now negative for CoVid,” her manager, Noel Ferrer, said in an online statement.

“We would like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, love, and support especially the doctors, nurses and all the health workers who continuously risk their lives to serve us all at this time,” Ferrer added.


On the other hand, renowned Filipina dermatologist Dr. Vicky Belo posted a heartwarming message upon hearing the recovery of the 37-years-old actress.

“@dochayden and I are so happy and grateful to Jesus that you are home and A-ok. Thank you for being so courageous by sharing your COVID journey and recovery. It showed the world that it’s not only the elderly people and immunocompromised people who can be hit by this killer virus,” Belo stated.

“You eat healthy, exercise and yet you got hit. You always inspire me with your strength of character and desire to help.”

Earlier last week, Calzado announced on her Instagram that she was admitted due to pneumonia. By Friday, the actress received her test results and was confirmed to have acquired COVID-19.


As of March 31, the Philippines has now over 2,000 cases with 88 deaths and 49 recovered patients.
